In honour of Carolyn, my daughter-in-law.
there was no morning sickness
no stretch marks
or varicose veins
no pain of labour
or ecstasy of birth
no episiotomy
or prenatal depression
but as surely as ben is my son
and by virtue of your love for him
you are my daughter
when i look into the mirror
i see all of my children
the furrows on my forehead
the laugh lines around my mouth
the greying hair
and i see you
in the small diamond i wear in my ear
the diamond
your birthstone
that will remain there
in sickness and in health
until death do us part

wow
Thank you Linda. That makes me feel so special!
Yeah, I was going to come on here and say "wow" but Michele beat me to it.
Beautiful! You're lucky, Ben's lucky, and Carolyn's lucky :-)
yeah, to have a mother in law who says, no problem... miss the family meal if you need to and want to have the space...
a dream
if course, i have a dream mother in law as well....
This is so lovely. And I know how you feel. My son is getting married this October to a wonderful girl. They have been together for 6 years and I already think of her as a daughter.
